Lake Region's School Counseling Office hosted Graduate With a Plan in collaboration with Advance Vermont Thursday, October 30th. The stated goal was to "showcase career opportunities for Lake Region students" and "bring together education and training professionals to highlight options and share pathways" in an effort to help students create career plans.
The keynote presenter was Tom Cheney from Advance Vermont. Other speakers represented Vermont State University, Champlain College, the Community College of Vermont, and the North Country Career Center. LR graduate Kevin Riendeau shared his experience as a member of the Armed Services and as a leader in Vermont electrical construction. VSAC's Matt Mitchell shared information about financial aid opportunities for post high school education and training programs.
The meal was sponsored by funding from the McClure Foundation and the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation GEAR UP program and catered by For the Love of Food.
