Lake Region Union High School

Dartmouth College students read Why Rural Schools Matter in an anthropology class with Professor Ann Sosin and then visited Lake Region to learn what students experience growing up in the Northeast Kingdom. Students in Senior Writing Workshop and VT and Local Studies met with their Dartmouth peers, and conversation flowed naturally. Our students have more in common than maybe we expected. "I wanted to write to express my gratitude to you, your teachers, and your amazing students," Professor Sosin wrote. "The students were deeply inspired by their visit to the school, and many said that meeting your students was the highlight of the class to date." It was a real pleasure to welcome our visitors, and we are proud of the work our students did representing the Northeast Kingdom.
