000 Independent Study
Individualized Learning provides students with the opportunity to design their own learning program determined by their personal motivation and personal interests. All credits earned in Individualized Studies are applicable to Lake Region Union High School graduation requirements. *Approval from Department Chairs and the Administration is required.
108 Library Assistant 1/2 Credit
A hands-on approach to understanding the library collection, computer skills, and other tasks as assigned by the librarian. This is an opportunity for students to work independently and assume responsibility in a real job situation.
977, 978 Computer Lab Assistant 1/2 Credit
A hands-on approach to learning about the inner workings of a computer lab. Students will learn how to trouble shoot and maintain Macs and Pcs as well as several different operating systems and applications. Assistants will work closely with the lab supervisor to learn the basics of each program in the lab and will be responsible for helping teachers and students with those programs.
018 Independent Project
Independent projects are available for students allowing them to earn elective credit. Credits will be awarded based on the number of hours students spend working on the project. Students will be required to earn a minimum of a quarter credit. Projects include the Origami Project*, Restaurant Feasibility Study*, Baking for Ranger Station*, the Electric Four-Wheeler Project, Solar Lighting for Field Shed (being built by Building Trades), Habitat for Humanity LRUHS Chapter Formation, Reverse Osmosis Maple Syrup, Vermont Land Trust Study, and Vermont Futures Study. For more information on these opportunities, please inquire in the guidance office. Mr. Jesse Tatum will supervise the projects.
