Lake Region Union High School District

Notice of Annual Meeting
Lake Region Union High 

The legal voters of the Lake Region Union High School District are hereby notified and warned to meet at the Lake Region Union High School, Town of Barton, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. to transact the following business to wit:

ARTICLE 1: To elect by ballot, a moderator, clerk, and treasurer to hold office for a period of one year.

ARTICLE 2: To see if the voters will direct that the members of the Lake Region Union High School District be introduced.

ARTICLE 3: To hear and act upon the reports of the Union High School District Officers

ARTICLE 4: To see what annual salaries the electorate shall authorize in payment to the School Directors.

ARTICLE 5: To see if the voters will authorize and appropriation of an additional Ninety Five Thousand Dollars ($95,000) to the capital reserve fund established by vote of the District at the 1982 Annual Meeting pursuant to the provision of 24 V.S.A. Section 2804; such funds to be used for repair, replacement and/or upgrading of structural components or operating systems of the Lake Region Union High School, if such repair, replacement and/or upgrading entails a projected cost in excess of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.)

ARTICLE 6: a) To have present by the Board of School Directors their estimate of the expenses and revenue for the ensuing year;

                    b) To see what sum of money the District will vote to pay expenses for the ensuing year, expressing said sum in dollars in its vote.

ARTICLE 7: To see if the District will vote to authorize the Board of School Directors to borrow money to pay indebtedness and current expenses of the District.

ARTICLE 8: To transact any other business proper to come before said meeting.

ARTICLE 9: To adjourn.

The past year has been a busy and productive one for the Lake Region school board and an enormously successful year for the school in general. As board members, most of our time is spent in planning, budgeting, and conducting business. However, one of the most rewarding aspects of serving as a board member comes from witnessing the many and varied accomplishments of Lake Region students. The board would like to recognize and celebrate the knowledge, skills, and efforts on display every day and at special events such as concerts, sporting events, National Honor Society induction, departmental honor events, public art projects, award nights, graduation and many similar events...
