Thank you LRUHS! The Mitten Drive was very successful! We collected 223 items. Foundations came in first place with 61 items, Earle came in second with 43 items and Carr came in third with 34 items. All of these items will be donated to NECKA, so 223 children now have mittens, hats, and gloves to wear. Thank you everyone and happy holidays.

The Vermont Department of Education, acting to fulfill its obligation under the federal No Child Left Behind Law, identified Lake Region Union High School as not having made adequate yearly progress (AYP) in the areas of Reading and Mathematics. This determination is based upon student scores on the statewide New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) administered in the fall of 2013. Since Vermont transitioned to a new assessment during the 2014-15 school year, we received a federal waiver to disregard those assessment results for accountability purposes in this first year of administration. The Vermont Agency of Education is providing technical assistance to support the ongoing school improvement efforts at Lake Region Union High School.
