The LR tobacco policy language has been updated this year. Please note the new, stricter policy language.
Old language: By state law and school board policy, Lake Region Union High School and its campus are tobacco and smoke free.
No person will smoke or use tobacco products in school, on school grounds, while waiting for or using school buses, or at any school-sponsored activity.
New language: By state law and school board policy, Lake Region Union High School and its campus are tobacco and smoke free. Students are, furthermore, prohibited from possessing tobacco products, tobacco substitutes or tobacco paraphernalia at all times while under the supervision of school staff, waiting for or using school busses, or at school sponsored activities.
The add/drop policy has been updated this year. Please note the new language
Students may withdraw from a semester long class without penalty prior to the close of the first quarter of the semester. Withdrawal without penalty in year-long courses must be made prior to the close of the 2nd quarter. Students who withdraw prior to the established deadlines from a class will receive a W on their transcripts. Students who wish to withdraw from a course after the established times, will receive a WP or a WF on their transcript based on their passing or failing of the course at the time of the withdrawal.

Estimated Electrical Energy Savings May-February 2014:
You Saved 31% or 113,120 kWh from May through February vs. the same period starting in 2010, totaling an estimated $11,878 in avoided energy costs.

* The CO2 emissions from the electricity use of 11 average US homes for one year
* The greenhouse gas emissions from 16 passenger vehicles each year

Lake Region High School is ranked 8th within Vermont. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Lake Region High School is 28 percent. The student body makeup is 47 percent male and 53 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 5 percent. Lake Region High School is the only high school in the Lake Region Uhsd #24.
